I've just heard this and.. well, fuck me. I've discovered that my jaw actually does drop involuntarily from time to time. Does he really expect sport fans to sing "all of the odds are in our favour..." ??? I mean, fuck me backwards. It must be a joke.. isn't it? [Edited 3/3/10 3:51am] | |

I'm going to get crucified here but I think if this wasn't a "fight" song for a
sports team and was just some odd little song tucked in a album somewhere, it may have been ok. I dunno. Like Wedding Feast. I will admit when I first heard it I was like...
We got Wedding Feast, Graffiti Bridge, Arms of Orion, etc...and now we have this.  Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way. | |

I think if the subject matter wasn't a football team, it would have gone down well, ie if it was part of a rock opera concept album. The song itself is interesting and I like the 94/95 NPG era sound to it. It does seem to get better with time though, i think people were shocked by the idea of Prince doing a football song.
At least he keeps it interesting and always does something we don't expect!! Anyone else notice the beat similiarity to 'Paisley Park'? [Edited 3/9/10 13:29pm] | |
